An alternative to the more popular Iron Mountain Trail, enjoy a challenging but rewarding hike on the Ellie Loop Trail through the chaparral and up to the peak of Iron Mountain. The trail starts only 25 miles from the Museum and is about an 8-mile round-trip loop offering great views of the surrounding mountains and even the Pacific Ocean.
