Lakeside-Lilac

The Lakeside-Lilac (Ceanothus cyaneus) is endemic to San Diego and Baja California, Mexico. There are 17 different species of Ceanothus in San Diego County where most chaparral habitats will have at least one kind, and often several kinds of Ceanothus.

The Lakeside-Lilac is a flowering shrub that can thrive in poor soils of chaparral habitats. It can be short-lived, but can sprout from seeds following a wildfire.
